That’s why we can also price based on a single annual bandwidth allocation rather than a recurring monthly one. It is a very small difference but one that could make a major financial cost saving for you.
Lets look at an example.
If you expect to transfer around 1,2 Gbps (95-percentile billing) of data in a year, then with a traditional carrier you’d sign up for a 100 Mbps/month contract. But if the profile of the data isn’t spread evenly then you would be hit for over usage penalties in some months (which can be very high) but get no rebate for the months that you under use. To avoid the over usage penalties you might be tempted to contract for a peak level monthly bandwidth, in which case most months you’d be paying for bandwidth that you’ll never use. It doesn’t make good sense.
But with the EuroTransit pricing policy it doesn’t matter what the profile of usage is over the year. High usage periods won’t cost you more as they get balanced out by the low usage periods. At the end of the year we simply work out your total usage against your bandwidth commitment. If you have used the 1,2 Gbps (95-percentile billing) or less then there is nothing more to pay.
A small difference yet a significant one.
Of course we also offer traditional pricing models, such as monthly 95-percentile, average utilization and volume-based billing according to customer demands.
